08 / FAQ

Questions worth asking before a move.

Specific answers about Linux support, access, free migrations, signed findings, partners and Sandy’s first review.

Does Virtual Move migrate the VM itself?

No. Virtual Move assesses and verifies. Your team or partner provides access, provisions the target and executes migration and cutover.Read docs →

Which Linux versions are supported?

Fit depends on the exact source and target versions and supported mode. A distribution appearing in a customer case is not a universal support promise. Check the current paths.Read supported →

Do we need an agent or production access?

Access choices and agent requirements depend on the supported mode. Establish them against the current documentation before assessment; no credentials are needed for the introduction.Read docs →

What does the first-ten offer mean?

Your first 10 migrations are free through your Virtual Move account. Start on a supported path. Sandy’s description-based review is a separate starting point; your team or partner performs the migration.Check 10 VMs free

What should I send first?

A work email, company and short description of the source, intended target and what is stuck. Name is optional. No VM upload or call required.Send one challenge →

Should I include credentials or system data?

No. Describe the issue without credentials, sensitive system data or production access. The introduction needs only a high-level description.Read privacy →

What does a signed report prove?

Report integrity and which scoped checks ran, not application correctness. An unknown is an unresolved or unavailable check—not a pass. A signed assessment requires actually running Virtual Move.

Can we keep our existing migration partner?

Yes. Assessment findings and measured comparisons can inform your partner’s decisions. Your partner still owns remediation, delivery and cutover.

Can we recheck for drift?

Recompare measured state against the captured baseline within the supported scope. Changed configuration still needs human review; a recheck is not a guarantee of application behavior.Read docs →

How does Sandy respond?

The first response is a fit review and a practical next step based on your description—what to establish first and whether Virtual Move fits. It is not a completed assessment, guaranteed fix or response-time SLA.Send one challenge →

One challenge. A practical next step.
